We’re launching something close to our hearts today, and we need your help to make it a reality. As you know, ULAH has been all about creating a space where style, community, and creativity come together. Now, after a tough year and a half of slower-than-expected sales, we’re asking our amazing community to rally behind us with our “Community Candle Campaign.”
Here’s the deal—we’re aiming to sell 5,000 of our locally made signature candles by October 19th (just in time for our 8th anniversary!). Why? Because these candle sales will help us restock your favorite brands and fill our store with the styles and items that you love.

Why Candles?
If you’ve been with us since the early days, you already know that our locally made candles have a bit of a cult following. It all started with our Prairie scent back in 2017, and since then, we’ve added Desert, Canyon, and Prairie Rose to the mix. They’ve been bestsellers, and we're incredibly proud of them. So, naturally, we thought our candles would be the perfect way to get the community involved while helping ULAH stay strong.
Our signature candles are not only great for your home but also make thoughtful gifts for:

- Holiday gifts (it's never too early to plan ahead!)
Why This Campaign Matters:
We’re going to be real with you—it’s been a rough year for small businesses, not just here in Kansas City but across the country. We’ve seen friends and fellow business owners close their doors, and we’re determined not to be next. We love what we do, and we love YOU, our loyal customers. But to keep doing what we love and bring in more of the products you ask for, we need your support.
That’s why we’re asking you to join our 5,000 Candle Challenge. By purchasing one of our signature candles (or more!), you’re directly helping us continue to give you the unique shopping experience that ULAH is known for.
How to Get Involved:
- Candles are available to order both in-store and online at ulahkc.com. We’ve got a 2-4 week lead time due to the volume, but you can choose in-store pickup or get free shipping on orders over $150.
- Encourage your friends, family, and anyone who loves supporting small businesses to order a candle as well.
- Follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok (@ulahkc) as we track our progress and share behind-the-scenes moments. You’ll see campaign milestones, updates, and lots of fun content along the way.
- As a thank you for participating, we’re including a special offer with every candle purchase!
